U13s East League
Glenrothes Strollers 2 - 4 Raith Rapids.
Raith Rovers Rapids U12s travelled up to play Glenrothes Strollers U13s this morning for a league game.
As usual between these sides a good competitive game was played out, within the rules and with great sportsmanship.
Strollers took the lead early with a good low finish after breaking through the Raith defence.
Raith were testing the Strollers keeper Keira who had an excellent day today in Goals with a multitude of fantastic saves.
Raith finally found the equaliser after a good passing move that saw Brooke driving in a low shot from the edge of the box that found the corner of the net.
HT 1-1
Raith took the lead in the second half after another quick passing move ended with Ava firing the ball across the keeper and home from just inside the left of the box.
Lots of good passing play from both sides, competitive battles and tackling all over the pitch ensued.
Strollers equalised when they pounced on a short kickout and fired low and hard past Codi despite her galant effort to stop the ball.
With the game looking like it was heading towards finishing as a draw Raith took the lead with 6 minutes left. Another quick team passing move ended when the final pass found Brooke who smashed her second goal and Raiths 3rd once again from the edge of the box and in off the post.
Raith sealed the three points with 2 minutes left when Mia danced through the heart of the strollers defence showing great skill and close control to fire the ball into the net.
Well done to both teams today and good to see all the girls playing and enjoying their football.
